The Morocco–European Union institutional twinning project in the field of youth comes to an end.

Rabat hosted the closing event of the project supporting Youth in Morocco, which over two years worked to strengthen the institutional capacities of the Youth Department in the areas of governance, organisation, strategic leadership, territorial coordination and social innovation. The project, managed by FIAP, involved specialists from the Directorate of the Treasury and External Finance.

Throughout the project, 25 activities were carried out, mobilising European specialists whose expertise enabled the transfer of well-established models in youth policies, territorial governance, social innovation, youth participation and inclusion. In addition, 4 study visits to Spain (Barcelona, Girona, Seville and Madrid) were organised, allowing Moroccan specialists to learn first-hand about Spanish experiences in youth policies.

The project’s closure served to present the achievements, lessons learned and future strategic orientations aimed at sustainably strengthening public policies in favour of youth in Morocco.

Key results included strengthened capacities within the Moroccan Youth Department, exchanges of experience between Moroccan and European partners, and the development of guides, reference frameworks and methodological tools to improve existing processes and programmes.

Thanks to the project, youth policies were promoted at regional and local levels through a decentralised approach, pilot social innovation initiatives and local inclusion programmes were supported, and youth participation and their role in public policy-making were strengthened. The project also contributed to the development of sustainable Euro-Mediterranean cooperation in the field of youth.
