The Commission also reviewed the 2025-2028 Strategic Plan, which will be submitted to the Board of Trustees in early July, and praised the Foundation's efforts to mobilize regional and local administrations.
The standing committee of the Foundation for the Internationalization of Public Administrations (FIAP) met today at the Foundation’s headquarters to review the status of the main projects and guide the strategic and operational planning 2025-2028.
This committee, chaired by the Secretary of State for International Cooperation and made up of the Secretaries of State for the European Union, Justice, Security, Equality and for the eradication of violence against women and Territorial Policy, together with the Director of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development, carries out the functions delegated by the plenary session of the Board of Trustees.
The Foundation’s II Equality Plan, the central axis of a diverse, inclusive, respectful and feminist FIAP, the new policy for the prevention of money laundering and financing of terrorism and the updating of the management policy of the internal ethical information system, as well as the administrative and financial status of the Foundation, were positively evaluated.
Among the projects reviewed were the recent launch of the European Union’s Shared Societies program for Latin America and the Caribbean, security work in West Africa and the Sahel, and strengthening the rule of law in the Western Balkans.
The Commission also recognized the important effort made in recent months to involve the regional and local administrations in the execution of the projects.
The progress made by the Foundation in the development of its external action mandate was also highlighted, as well as its integration into the Spanish Cooperation system, with its incorporation into the working group on modalities and instruments of the Sectorial Conference on Cooperation for Sustainable Development and Global Solidarity, its participation in the operational coordination of the system exercised by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation and the favorable opinion of the Development Cooperation Council on FIAP’s Statute.
The proposed Strategic Plan 2025-2028, which will be submitted to the full Board of Trustees next month, culminates the Foundation’s transformation process.
