These programmes reaffirm the Foundation's commitment to fighting transnational crime and strengthening the rule of law.
The Salón de los Espejos of the Supreme Court of Justice hosted the official launch of these two EU-funded projects, aimed at supporting the prevention and strengthening the fight against human trafficking, smuggling of migrants and organised crime in Bolivia.
The event brought together high-level national and international authorities, marking a milestone in the joint commitment to human rights and citizen security.
The projects presented were the Project Supporting the prevention of human trafficking, smuggling of migrants and related crimes, implemented by FIAP, and the Project EU police support to the Bolivian Special Police Force in the fight against organised crime. Phase II 2024-2028, implemented by the consortium formed by FIAP, the International Italo-Latin American Organisation (IILA) and CIVIPOL.
The ceremony was opened by the embassies of the European Union, Spain, France, Italy and Germany, who stressed the importance of strong cooperation between the European Union and Bolivia in the field of justice and security.

During the event, the directors of the projects, María Antonia Diez and Santiago Santos, presented the objectives and lines of action of each initiative. Likewise, Agustín Fernández, Director of FIAP’s Justice and Rule of Law Area, reaffirmed FIAP’s commitment to the fight against organised crime and the prevention of human trafficking and human smuggling.
The event concluded with closing messages from high-ranking Bolivian authorities: the Attorney General of the State, Roger Mariaca Montenegro; the President of the Council of the Judiciary, Juan Manuel Baptista Espinoza; and the President of the Supreme Court of Justice, Romer Saucedo Gómez. All reaffirmed the Plurinational State of Bolivia’s commitment to strengthening the rule of law and the fight against transnational crime.
