"The objective of the project is to provide Technical Assistance to set up a Customs Laboratory, adjusting operational capabilities to EU requirements, improving legislation, management, analytical methods and staff training in line with good European practices.
The ultimate aim is to optimise collection of customs duties by establishing a classification according to the nature, price, origin and value of goods, and to prevent illegal traffic of goods. It will also help to fulfil obligations under the community acquis."
