EMPACT FI-X Weapons and explosives

The European Multidisciplinary Platform Against Criminal Threats (EMPACT) is the EU’s main framework for combating serious and organised crime.

Through EMPACT, European Union (EU) Member States, law enforcement agencies, EU agencies and international partners work together to set priorities, coordinate operations and dismantle criminal networks operating across borders.

EMPACT FI-X tackles the emerging threat of the illicit trade in firearms and explosives through a multidisciplinary approach. In particular, in coordination with the other EMPACT priorities, it supports law enforcement agencies in the fight against the illicit trafficking of weapons and explosives.

This project forms part of the Spanish Government’s External Action Strategy.
