EU-ACT: EU Action Against Organised Crime and Terrorism

EU ACT is a cooperation programme under the EU's Global Illicit Flows Programme (GIFP) designed to be a more effective EU mechanism to assist partner countries in their efforts to tackle transnational organised crime.

The programme will work by providing countries with tailor-made and on-demand support to respond to security threats, such as terrorism and organised crime, in order to enhance their capacities to deal with these threats from a rule of law perspective.

The objective of EU ACT is to contribute to the effective fight against organised crime in general, and drug trafficking in particular, along the so-called heroin routes to and from Afghanistan. This work will be carried out in the countries concerned and identified from the EMPACT platform, in line with international legal instruments and human rights standards.

EU ACT will support selected EMPACT operational action plans, such as High Risk Criminal Networks (HRCN), Cannabis, Cocaine and Heroin (CCH) and Synthetic Drugs and New Psychoactive Substances (SYD-NPS).
