Sustainable and Strategic Blue Economy in Angola

The project aims to promote a sustainable blue economy in Angola by fostering the responsible management of marine and coastal resources. It seeks to improve aquatic food value chains to generate employment and income, strengthen food security, and increase exports, particularly benefiting women, youth, and vulnerable communities, while also protecting ecosystems and enhancing resilience to climate change.

Project objectives

General

To promote a strategic and sustainable blue economy in Angola, including the conservation and sustainable management of marine resources and coastal ecosystems in the context of climate change.

Specific

To preserve and sustainably manage marine biological resources and ecosystems in the context of climate change.

Specific

To improve the inclusiveness and the economic, social, and environmental sustainability of aquatic food value chains.

Specific

To improve the market access of aquatic food products in local, regional, and international markets.
