Joint Operational Collaboration Network (NET-COP) III

Costa de Marfil, Gambia, Guinea Conakry, Mauritania, Nigeria, Senegal

Senegal, Mauritania, The Gambia, Nigeria, Guinea-Conakry and Côte d’Ivoire face significant challenges linked to migration patterns, transnational organised crime and security threats, which require a coordinated response at regional level.

The police and judicial institutions in these countries face technical and operational constraints that hinder effective cross-border cooperation in the fight against criminal networks involved in migrant smuggling, human trafficking, document forgery and other forms of organised crime.

Against this backdrop, the NETCOP project was launched in response to the need to strengthen mechanisms for information exchange and operational collaboration between the National Investigation Units (UNI) of these countries, by promoting the use of a common IT tool to facilitate joint investigations and improve security in the region. The third phase of the project (NETCOP III) aims to consolidate these advances, expand geographical coverage and ensure the institutional and technical sustainability of the efforts already undertaken.
