"The MUNICIPIA programme is an initiative aimed at coordinating the efforts of different agents within the Spanish cooperation network in order to promote and strengthen local institutions in all the countries in which it is active. It is aimed at reducing poverty levels by strengthening municipalities and local institutions as a driving force in the fight against hunger and poverty.
MUNICIPIA is present in 15 countries and about half of its projects have an important regional focus. Since 2007, a total of 55 projects have been implemented. Currently, 31 projects are being carried out, and 14 are in the processing and start-up phase. "
