Strengthening Land Administration Framework in Jordan

Jordan

The project ‘Strengthening Land Administration Framework in Jordan’ is an initiative funded by the European Union under the Partnership Implementation Facility (‘Sharaka’) Programme – NDICI-GEO-NEAR/ACT-60902, with a budget of €1.6 million.

The project is being developed in collaboration with the Department of Lands and Survey (DLS) of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the beneficiary institution, and a consortium of Member States led by Croatia, together with the Netherlands and Spain.

Its purpose is to support Jordan in modernising its land administration system, contributing to more effective, transparent and sustainable management through the application of international models and standards such as FELA (Framework for Effective Land Administration) and LADM (Land Administration Domain Model).

The project seeks to ensure an advanced land administration system in Jordan that provides accurate, up-to-date and secure cadastral data, strengthening confidence in the stability of land ownership and improving conditions for investment and economic development in the country.

Project objectives

Strengthen the institutional and technical capacities of the Department of Lands and Survey (DLS) to manage and maintain an efficient and transparent land administration system.

Review and improve the current land administration system through technical assessment, consultation workshops, and the development of a roadmap for its modernisation.
