Strengthening strategic partnerships to promote the creation of hydro-social territories in Colombia and Peru
Colombia, Peru
TRIANGULAR CO-OPERATION 2024
The proposal aims to address the challenge of water management in Colombia and Peru, focusing on regions such as the Santurbán and La Mojana páramo in Colombia, and the Chonta–Mashcon catchment and the upper Lampa River catchment in the Pariauanca agrobiodiversity zone in Peru.
The project focuses on strengthening strategic partnerships to create hydro-social territories, ensuring access to, availability and quality of water in the context of climate change.
The expected outcomes include consolidated partnerships, a biophysical assessment of the territory in relation to water management, trained technical staff, and innovative solution strategies aligned with the communities’ aspirations and the conceptual advances of the steering group.
The expected impact is a roadmap for public policy to achieve more equitable, sustainable and resilient water management, benefiting local communities and improving water management in the study areas.
