Strengthening the sustainable tourism planning process in the Dominican Republic and Bolivia

TRIANGULAR CO-OPERATION 2024
An innovative, participatory model for sustainable tourism planning in the municipalities of Mao in the Dominican Republic and Sorata in Bolivia. The aim is to empower communities and ensure that tourism strategies respond to market demands whilst promoting local development. It is hoped that a Manual of Good Public-Private Practices for Community-Led Sustainable Tourism Management will be agreed upon, aimed at promoting tourism projects.
The ultimate objective is to strengthen the institutional capacities of the communities of Pallcapampa, in Bolivia, and Valverde, in the Dominican Republic, in the planning and management of sustainable tourism.

To promote transformative change in tourism-related policies and practices in the communities of Pallcapampa and Valverde.
