CBRN: strengthening the management of chemical waste in Eastern and Central Africa

Burundi, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Dem. Rep. Congo, Rwanda, Seychelles, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia

East and Central Africa continue to face challenges in the management of chemicals and waste. Despite previous initiatives, the accumulation of these residues keeps increasing, generating environmental and public health risks. To address these risks, international cooperation and joint work among different institutions are essential. All partners participate in the Centres of Excellence (CoE) to carry out a wide range of CBRN risk-mitigation activities, in which FIAP will also take part in a consortium together with GIZ from Germany and CENIA, from Czech Republic, specifically to improve the legal framework and inter-institutional cooperation.
