CompACT Gambia

Gambia

Further strengthening of the legal framework, inter-agency cooperation and operational capacities to combat the smuggling of migrants and human trafficking in The Gambia

The aim of this project is to strengthen The Gambia’s capacity to prevent, investigate and prosecute the smuggling of migrants and human trafficking, two phenomena that seriously affect the country’s security, human rights and development.

Adopting a cross-cutting approach to gender and human rights, the initiative seeks not only to strengthen the institutions involved, but also to ensure the effective protection of victims, paying particular attention to the most vulnerable situations, and to help reduce irregular migration flows through coordinated and sustainable actions.

Strengthening the operational and investigative capabilities of the security agencies (GID, GPF and NAATIP), as well as improving cooperation (at national and international level)

Strengthening the criminal justice system
