SOCIEUX+, the EU initiative for social protection, work and employment, is a demand-driven technical cooperation instrument that supports the creation of inclusive employment policies and social protection systems. In 2024, its fourth phase starts, to continue facilitating institutional cooperation between EU member states and more than 160 partner countries through peer-to-peer exchange of experiences, good practices and knowledge.
SOCIEUX+ is an initiative created and co-financed by the European Union through the European Commission's Directorate General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA), the Directorate General for the Middle East, North Africa and the Gulf (DG MENA) and the Directorate General for Enlargement and Eastern Neighbourhood (DG ENEST) and the governments of Belgium, France and Spain. The initiative is implemented by a consortium composed of Expertise France (leader), France Travail, the Belgian Federal Public Social Security Service through the Belgian International Cooperation for Social Protection (BELINCOSOC), the Belgian Development Agency (Enabel) and the Foundation for the Internationalisation of Public Administrations (FIAP).
FIAP plays an essential role in SOCIEUX+, promoting the participation of Spanish public expertise in international technical cooperation actions. Thus, the public expertise of Spanish institutions has been mobilised for activities in Spanish-speaking countries such as Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama and Peru, as well as in other countries such as Azerbaijan, Brazil, Cambodia and Niger. Moreover, among the consortium partners, FIAP assumes in this phase the responsibility of mainstreaming the gender perspective in all the actions of the initiative.
