Cybersecurity in Guatemala through the establishment of Security Operations Centres (SOCs)

Guatemala

The digital transformation of public administrations presents an opportunity to improve the delivery of services to citizens, increase institutional efficiency and enhance transparency. However, this process also increases public institutions’ exposure to increasingly sophisticated and frequent cyber threats.

In Guatemala, the rise in cyberattacks targeting public bodies has highlighted the need to strengthen national cybersecurity capabilities. The protection of information systems, digital infrastructure and essential public services has become a strategic priority for ensuring the continuity of government operations and public confidence in the digital transformation of the state.

Against this backdrop, the European Union is funding this project, implemented by FIAP in collaboration with the CCN and the relevant Guatemalan institutions, with the aim of strengthening capabilities for the prevention, detection and response to cybersecurity incidents through the establishment and consolidation of a network of Security Operations Centres (SOCs) within the Guatemalan public administration.
